SciFi and Fantasy Art: Callananelo Colored

(3/24/03)I decided to take down the black and white version of this picture to make room for new pictures...
This is Callanelo friend of Shillalah. She looks a lot like her father King Avallach, and has a very strong sense of leadership, and she is a character in my graphic novel. I think this is one of my best inked in... I *slaved* over her, the same day I did Shillalah...I think my hand decided to die that day too! :)Here she is, the colored version Amanda O'Dell and I collaberated on[she colored it and I fiddled with the brightness/contrast/gamma & her eyes(which I fixed up a bit)]. When I am still pretty much floored with how she looks colored, it changes everything! Amanda has a wonderful grasp of colors and I'm glad I asked her to color some of mine!
Check out her gallery which is in #173(or was!). :)
Scottish Humor: As a Christmas present one year, the Laird gave his gamekeeper, MacPhail, a deerstalker hat with ear-flaps. MacPhail was most appreciative and always wore it with the flaps tied under his chin to keep his ears warm in the winter winds. One cold, windy day the Laird noticed he was not wearing the hat. 'Where's the hat?' asked the Laird. 'I've given up wearing it since the accident,' replied MacPhail. 'Accident? I didn't know you'd had an accident.' 'Yes. A man offered me a nip of whisky and I had the earflaps down and never heard him.'

This is really good. She has a kind of regal look to her, and she’s very beautiful! I love the colours, especially in the hair (I love curly hair) Very nice pic ^___^

1 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Yay for curly hair! And I am glad to hear that regal air came across. Thanks for dropping by and commenting! 2"

2 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: I had to take down one version or the other to make more space, this was before the most recent expansion of space to 100 pictures. 2"

She has a very determined look on her face, like she is ready to conquer the world. You did a great job capturing the qualities of a leader in her expression.

1 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Wow, I am glad the determination comes across so well! She is a pretty determined character. 2"

OOh, she's gorgeous, I wish I could draw that good. Love the shiny hair and her face is so pretty. The necklace is cool too.

13 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: This is a bit late but: Thanks! This style was perfected by Wendy Pini,I try to not draw like this anymore, but it is useful for some things, like ears and eyes. 2"

I like all of her wish i could draw like that but I'm rubbish lol

61 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Aww,thank you for the comment, but don't go hatin' on your drawing abilities! It take lots of practice to do well at pretty much anything(like driving in the city, which I don't do, I ride my bike)."

whoa, I love the colour of her hair and the shading you’ve done in this pic. Your style reminds me of wendy and richard pini’s elfquest, maybe you heard that before? you make great pictures

:-) Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Thank you Sandra! I do know of Wendy and Richard Pini, this one was done during my elfquest phase. I was actually doing a comic book myself at the time, kind of dropped that. I wince when I think of looking at it again! 2"
