5.09.2009 I blame any typos on the tiny font! Trying out the new Elfwood, I am going to miss the Extranet, and I am not liking the looks of not having the thumbnails for the pictures, unless I am missing them somewhere I need to poke around a bit more, I can't remember what the pictures look like half the time from names alone. I know that is pretty sad, but that is what happens when you art a lot Maybe I'll find something to upload this year.
7/14/06 Notice: If you are with a tubing/signature tag group, please don't send me one of your e-mails. I reponded to one and got sent a ton of other requests, I felt hounded. No one was using my art anyways, which made me feel like it was a numbers game ,like "how many friends do YOU have on facebook?" Thanks. I've been doing a lot of work for Ellen Million's Portrait Adoption My gallery here . 2/7/04 and 3/20/04 I was artist of the day! 12/25/03:Another mod's choice ('Golden Faun')!
3/28/03 My picture is a sketch of me as an elf done by Larry Elmore! Yes, I got approval from the appropriate parties. :) Larry Elmore's Official Site 3/21/03 A link to a place that sells some of my art, and there is new stuff ( 2006) ! Ellen Million Graphics .

August 19, 2000 My style...Elmore-ish Pini-ish Gibson-ish Celtic music & other things = Heidewald-ish. I would like to try and draw everything at least once, and try to keep my art inspirational, and original (most of the time, the occasional 'bikini clad warrior babe' sneaks in...<:) ). I work in Photoshop, mechanical pencil, watercolor pencil, colored pencil, black and colored Micron pens, markers, watercolor, absolute matte paint, a little bit of oil pastel and have done a few oil, and acrylic, paintings. I draw these things so that other people can see the beauty in art, and in turn become inspired themselves. I am inspired by Celtic music, and The Greatest Ever Artist: Larry Elmore: Who has painted/drawn/inked such beautiful things, making me want to put my characters in color too. And last, but *certainly* not least, my Love, and now my husband, one Alexander D. Mitchell IV, also known as Sandy.

I might never have taken this path down the woods if you hadn't left a message or two at mine own door. Some very nice work here. My favorites are: Elf Mage, Golden Fawn Mermaid, Bat and Faerie Cats Kirienalla Uriolas and Nim Wandering Soul I feel these have a beautiful combination of showing off your technique and also have the best sense of presense and use of space. You lead my eye wonderfully through the image from start to finish then let me soak in the details at my leisure, getting something from the work every time I look at it. Many of your pieces remind me of forgotten daydreams I had when I was little, and more than a little of the Brothers Hildebrandt. You mentioned something about joining Portrait Adoption? I confess I know nothing about it. What sort of organization is it? My email is capeterson67 at gmail dot com. Feel free to drop me a note with any information you feel pertinent or just to discuss art in general. Always nice to meet another daydreamer. Jenny's Note: Hi there! I agree with you about how large Elfwood is now, that is why I like to see the random pictures on the front page. Wow, it's a high honor to have my art remind someone of the Brothers Hidebrandt, they are among my favorite artists (the lighting they do is supurb). Thank you so much! *bows* I wish I could word my comments as eloquently as you! I'll e-mail you a link to Portrait Adoption through my normal mail.
| 14 Apr 2008 | Jennifer Roberts | Loading...I love your work and I was wondering how I would go about getting permission to reproduce it for a small journal I help publish for our church. We publish a quarterly journal called the Showstone for members of our church and those affiliated with it. There is a piece here I would very much like to use for the Beltane issue. Please contact me at my email address if this would be permissable.
Jennifer Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Hi there, thank you for asking permission, I would e-mail you, but it seems your e-mail address is not here? I am guessing you are interested in "Beltane Dance", you can use it provided you include a notice that it is by me ( "Copyright Jenny Heidewald" , my Elfwood website, and my e-mail: celticwren2@yahoo.com . Thank you. "
| 11 Jul 2008 | Valerie | Loading...Hi i like your drawing of laurana, especely tanis..I look every where on the net to find a drawing of aengus ( celtic god of love) and in my mind it fit perfectely...cant you draw im a little bit bigger.. please.. Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Hi Valerie, I never thought of Tanis as looking like a god of love, but I did have a crush on him at one point . The original picture is actually bigger, but I am paranoid about my art getting stolen, so I’ve made the pictures on hrere pretty small. And there are those pesky image size limitations on Elfwood. | 28 Dec 2008 | Anon. | Loading...i love dragonlance and actually know the man who helped publish it. its a great series i read over and over again. but i love your artwork. keep it up Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Hi there, Glad you enjoyedthe art! I wish I had more to upload but I am afraid of the Moderators! I can’t recall the last time I tried to run the gauntlet." | |
| 29 Mar 2009 | Jenny M. Heidewald | Loading... Noooooo...not this green! Normally I like this green, but not behind the pictures! Nonono! Please go back to the grey behind the pictures, or the leaves....and I can’t read the tiny tiny tiny font...what is it .02? *dies* I know it is in the moving and shaking stage, but still... I’ll come back in a year, I guess. Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Update: I notice that when I save an image of mine (I don’t have it on my computer and I want to rework it) it comes up "untitled", which really bothers me. I should save with the name I named it and my name or something, not just "untitled". I hope this is something in the works to fix." | |
| 14 May 2009 | Chris | Loading...I ’ve gone through your gallery and it seems to me , you have many different styles ie Portrait, cutie and comic book to name but a few, is this intentional? Or have n’t you found the style which suits you best? I think some of the Portraits are excellent but other of your Art Work ,( for me any way) doesn’t work,I think you should stick to what you’re best at, and that is Portraits, well thats what I think. You can agree or disagree, it what makes the World go round. Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Thank you for taking the time to go through my gallery, I know that 99 pictures can take some time to browse through! To answer your question, yes, I like to try out different styles I like trying different things. Sticking to what one is good at is usually a good idea, but if I don’t try new things it gets kind of boring, and I can’t get better at them. Some of the older works are a little awkward ( like "Legolas" which I did in 99 in my ElfQuest phase), but I like to leave them up so that folks can see how much my work has changed.
With that said, portraits are normally what I do these days, and you can see a lot of my more recent work on Portrait Adoption: http://portraitadoption.com/paartist.php?profile=59
or on my DeviantArt gallery: http://celticwren.deviantart.com/
